May 2012 -CSA Results Summary

The May 2012 CSA examination was sat by 1055 candidates during a 14 day period between 11 and 26 May, with 462 (43.8%) of this cohort were sitting for the first time.
634 candidates were successful overall resulting in a pass rate of 60.1%.

The pass rate for first time applicants was 68.4%, the comparative figure for the May 2011 examination being 77.9%.
The mean score for the entire cohort was 76 out of 117, with the highest score once again being 111 marks and 26 candidates in all scoring 100 marks or more.
The minimum score achieved on this occasion was just 36 marks. 36 candidates scored 20 or more marks below the passing mark for the day on which they sat the examination, 20 of whom were sitting for the first time.

A further 15 candidates from this group were making a second attempt at the examination and one a fourth.
